Because we represent ONLY landowners, Farm the Sun Northeast, LLC is different than most other solar companies in the marketplace. While others seek to advance the corporate interests of electric companies and developers, our focus in on the landowner. We earn a fee only if we obtain a solar lease that is acceptable to our client. 

Our company is based where it started, in a rural community in Pennsylvania. In just a short time the demand for our consulting services has expanded into Ohio, West Virginia, New York, Maryland, Virginia and Oklahoma. Farmers make up a large portion of our client base. We work with our landowner clients to maximize the financial return from the ownership of their land. We provide options to landowners to enhance, supplement, and support the use of their land.

Today's reality is that the farmer is incredibly stressed. Commodity prices are challenging.  Many farms have fallen on hard times. Quite a bit of agricultural land is fallow. We work with our clients to provide a stable income on all or a portion of the land. This can supplement the farm. It can be an attractive choice for the farmer who wishes to retire, but has no successor. In some cases, it can preserve the family farm by enhancing income with partial solar development.  

At Farm the Sun Northeast, we bring a business approach to solar leasing. We turn non-productive acreage into a monetary income stream. We bring better income to lands with low fertility. We give the stressed farmer some breathing room. Landowners with acreage that only creates a real estate tax bill should explore solar leasing to generate income from those lands. 

Our consultants will meet with you individually to help determine whether your land would be attractive for solar development. Land that is too steep, lacks northern exposure, or is too distant from electrical infrastructure, may not qualify. We provide a free analysis of your lands to examine location, terrain, regional infrastructure and more, to provide you with an assessment of your potential for solar leasing. 

We provide professional, no-nonsense advice and guide you to the right developer should your land possess the necessary requirements. We establish relationships. We are not “brokers” or lease “flippers” looking to sign you up and then disappear. We are based within the rural community. We have extensive experience in providing landowners with options in for maximizing the use and financial income from their property. Many rural areas in most states will not experience residential, commercial, or industrial development. Maintaining land is a challenge. Solar leasing provides an income stream that can support the land as well as the landowner. Solar leases are increasing in value. We guide our clients to financially rewarding participation in the oncoming wave of solar energy development.

Covid Procedures: Our consultants do our best to visit your property and tour your land. At present, we welcome outdoor meetings upon your property. We are accustomed to visiting our client farms and homesteads. We follow CDC guidelines.
